What is the LearnVest program for taking control of your money?

The LearnVest Program was a service that matched everyday people with Certified Financial Planners to build simple, affordable, personalized financial plans. Using LearnVest's technology, members could connect all their accounts in one place — through a tool called the Money Center — to finally see their complete financial picture and track their spending against their goals.

At the heart of the program was founder Alexa von Tobel's framework: know your numbers, build a 50/20/30 budget, and follow a clear six-step plan covering debt, savings, investing, and protection. It also introduced habits like the daily "Money Minute" — a one-minute check-in that builds lasting financial awareness.

The standalone LearnVest planning service was wound down after the company's 2015 acquisition by Northwestern Mutual, ending in 2018. But the philosophy behind it never went away. Today, Alexa teaches that same system, refined and distilled, through her books and her Financially Fearless course — so anyone can take control of their money on their own terms.

Want to follow the system at the heart of LearnVest? The Financially Fearless course walks you through every step. Learn more today.
